UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon travelled to Burma today calling for the release of pro democracy leader Aung San Su Kyi and to send a united international message to Burma on human rights abuses.

Following news that remarks by Ayatollah Jannati suggest some of our local staff in Iran may face trial, Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, stressed that 'we are urgently seeking clarification from the appropriate Iranian authorities'.

Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances applicants who were issued at UKBA Kuwait with visitor's visas with serial numbers between 870000 M - 870999 M between 22 June and 25 June 2009 may face difficulties whilst travelling. All applicants holding a visa with these serial numbers are requested to submit their passports to the British Embassy between 0730 and 1400, Saturday to Thursday; for an immediate reprint. UKBA Kuwait sincerely regret any inconvenience caused.
