Birth registration

For information concerning a British birth registration, please contact the Consular section by telephone or visit the Consular counter at the Embassy from Sunday to Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The original documents required can differ depending on each individual application.

Our Consular section has prepared a document (Word doc, 29KB, new window) outlining all the general information you need on registering a new born, as well as all the follow up procedures, including issuing their Kuwaiti residence and passport.

Replacement certificates:

• Replacement birth and death certificates (UK and overseas) may be ordered using GRO’s (General Register Office) online service.
• Please note that copies of the current year's overseas register entries can only be applied for at post as details of entries are forwarded to the GRO at the end of each year.
